Blocks away) Visitors enjoy year-round shopping, antiquing and dining. Host to numerous high-quality
shops and galleries, you'll also be moments away from three fine-dining restaurants,
an ice-cream shop/cafe, a coffee shop and a pizzaria. Head a couple
blocks west for the library, a bowling alley/restaurant and the area's only full-service
grocery store.

Kalamazoo Harbor (3 Blocks away) Tour The S.S.Keewatin, our own Titanic-era cruise ship- turned Maritime Museum for a real
step back in time...or venture down to the Red Dock (the yellow shack in the center of the photo) for some
dock-side fare, cocktails and fun! Live music during summer months.

Saugatuck (8 Blocks away) Great shopping opportunities
with several blocks of boutiques and galleries, specialty shops and antiques. You'll also
have numerous opportunities to grab everything from a bag of fudge to a light lunch or gourmet al-fresco
dinner . Also known for its natural beauty, you can relax in any one of several parks scattered about town.

Saugatuck Center for the Arts
(6 Blocks away) Enjoy live professional theater at
Mason Street Warehouse, the SCA's resident theater company, or take in one one of their own offerings including
concerts, lectures, art exhibits, workshops and film/cultural
festivals! The SCA also hosts a very fresh farmer's market on Mondays and Fridays during
growing season.

Beaches
(Minutes away by car or bike) (Walking to the beaches is not recommended
due to the lack of sidewalks west of Blue Star Highway.) Pictured above is Douglas Beach, 4 minutes
away. Also recommended is Oval Beach (6 minutes away), and Saugatuck State Park (10 minutes
away). Surrounded by dunes and trails, these are some of the most beautiful spots in the midwest!

Nightlife
(Abounds!) It's a party-town if you want it
to be! The restaurant/bars of downtown Douglas and Saugatuck often provide live entertainment,
as does the Red Dock, 3 blocks away. Many opportunities are available near-by, from a neighborhood-atmoshphere

Outdoor Fun! Rent a canoe
or kayak (4 blocks away) and explore the Kalamazoo River, or enjoy any one of several boat charters
for sailing or fishing. Scooter rentals are available. The area also boasts

Chain Ferry / Pump House Museum
/ Mt. "Baldy" (10 Blocks) Cross the Kalamazoo River from
downtown Saugatuck on the oldest existing hand-cranked chain ferry. Learn about the area's history at
the museum on the other side or climb the beautiful new steps of the area's tallest dune, Mount
Baldhead, to take in the view from it's observation deck.

Non-summer
Fun! Festivals and seasonal beauty are always on tap in Saugatuck / Douglas. Starting exactly 2 minutes into each
New Year with a spectacular fireworks display (3 blocks away), we continue to show visitors
a great time all year! Parades and festivals include St. Patrick's Day,
an Easter Festival and the world-class Waterfront Film Festival in the spring... and two
Halloween festivals in the fall! Farmstands and U-Picks are another Autumn
favorite, and winter activities include 2 ice rinks and area cross-country ski trails / snowshoeing
(rentals available). The Saugatuck Center for the Arts continues to offer great programs and festivals year-round and most
businesses remain open throughout the year!
